An Invitation for First Responders

In appreciation of your service to the community, the student council of St. Anthony's Catholic School cordially invites you and your family to be our guest at the Blue Mass on Monday, September 11th at 9:00 a.m. Following Mass, there will be a reception held in your honor in the school cafeteria.

We thank you for the incredible dedication you have in serving all the people of our community and the tremendous sacrifices you make. We thank you for being there when we need you.  We hope you will be able to join us to celebrate you and your families.

If you are able to honor us with your presence, would you kindly RSVP to the student council moderator, michelle.crowley@sasmanteca.org,  by September 6th.  This will greatly help us to prepare for the reception.

May God bless you,

St. Anthony's Student Council

Conference week is September 11-15. Kindergarten through fifth grade teachers will contact parents through email or class newsletters to have parents sign up on SignUpGenius.

Middle school parents will have a conference with teachers if a student has a grade of "C" or lower in any of his/her academic classes. Teachers will contact parents.

All teachers are available to set meetings with parents outside of conference week if behavior or academic progress is an issue.

Harvest Festival - September 15-17

It's that time of year to start collecting candy for the Harvest Festival. The winning class that collects the most pounds of candy will receive an ice cream party. Preferred candy is Child's Play (see picture). Please no chocolate - it melts in the heat.

All candy must be collected by September 8th to be included in the contest.

garden club

CALLING ALL GARDENING ANGELS!

Our first meeting on August 23rd was great!

We saw what the garden already has and how we are going to care for it.  We also discussed what we would like to do this school year and we are pretty excited about some upcoming events. We weeded the garden and harvested enough tomatoes so that every Gardening Angel was able to take one home to enjoy.

Our next meeting is September 6th. I'm hoping that our very large icebox watermelon will be ripe and all Gardening Angels will be able to enjoy a slice.

Our club is very full and those who have already turned in the permission slip are now official members. Unfortunately we have 30 members and are full. Anyone still wishing to join will be on a waiting list and will be notified if a space opens up.

Looking forward to God's harvest!

Mrs. Parnahm

Mornings Are Drop Off Only

no walking

Parents are NOT to park and walk students onto school grounds. This is causing cars to be backed up in the drop off line as you cross and is causing safety issues for our students.

The Sutter gate is not just for older students, you may use this gate as a drop off area as well. Kindergarten parents may find this easier, as you can see your student all the way to the classroom door.

If you would like to volunteer to help drop off run more smoothly, please sign up in the school office.

pick up

If you need to pick up your child early from school, please make arrangements to pick up no later than 2:30 pm. In addition, please make sure to email the student's teacher the morning of. Thank you for your assistance with this.

PTG

If you missed the last PTG Meeting, you missed out on Wine, Cheese and a Free Dress Pass for your student(s).

PTG is YOUR parent group, it is a place that you can get involved at your child's school and it is a great place to meet new families. If you can't make it in person to the meetings on the third Wednesday of the month, you can log into the meeting by clicking on the Google Meet in the school calendar. As a reminder, it is mandatory that you attend at least 2 meetings (in person) per year or you will be assessed $200 in April.

Minutes for the August meeting available by clicking here.

Our next meeting will be on September 20 at 6 PM in the school library.

Volunteers

vol

If you are planning to volunteer this year (and we hope you do), you must have completed your fingerprints, Virtus training and signed off on the Volunteer Agreement before you can be in the classroom or events where students are in attendance (including the Harvest Festival and Barn Dance).

**Fingerprinting is only done once. Virtus and Volunteer Agreements have expiration dates and need to be updated. If you are not sure if you need to update, please contact Kelly Holdren in the front office.
