An Invitation for First Responders
In appreciation of your service to the community, the student council of St. Anthony's Catholic School cordially invites you and your family to be our guest at the Blue Mass on Monday, September 11th at 9:00 a.m. Following Mass, there will be a reception held in your honor in the school cafeteria.
We thank you for the incredible dedication you have in serving all the people of our community and the tremendous sacrifices you make. We thank you for being there when we need you. We hope you will be able to join us to celebrate you and your families.
If you are able to honor us with your presence, would you kindly RSVP to the student council moderator, michelle.crowley@sasmanteca.org, by September 6th. This will greatly help us to prepare for the reception.
May God bless you,
St. Anthony's Student Council
St. Anthony's will not be in session on September 1st (for teacher in service) and September 4 as we celebrate the Labor Day holiday.
ENJOY YOUR 4 DAY WEEKEND!
Parents are NOT to park and walk students onto school grounds. This is causing cars to be backed up in the drop off line as you cross and is causing safety issues for our students.
The Sutter gate is not just for older students, you may use this gate as a drop off area as well. Kindergarten parents may find this easier, as you can see your student all the way to the classroom door.
If you would like to volunteer to help drop off run more smoothly, please sign up in the school office.
It's that time of year to start collecting candy for the Harvest Festival. The winning class that collects the most pounds of candy will receive an ice cream party. Preferred candy is Child's Play (see picture). Please no chocolate - it melts in the heat.
All candy must be collected by September 8th to be included in the contest.

Volunteer for festival booths in the school office. Chairs will begin sign up sheets week of August 28. Remember to get fingerprinting, Virtus and Volunteer Agreements completed in order to volunteer.

The live auction is looking for donations. Please email harvestfestival@st-anthonys.org or drop off at parish office.
CALLING ALL GARDENING ANGELS!
Our first meeting on August 23rd was great!
We saw what the garden already has and how we are going to care for it. We also discussed what we would like to do this school year and we are pretty excited about some upcoming events. We weeded the garden and harvested enough tomatoes so that every Gardening Angel was able to take one home to enjoy.
Our next meeting is September 6th. I'm hoping that our very large icebox watermelon will be ripe and all Gardening Angels will be able to enjoy a slice.
Our club is very full and those who have already turned in the permission slip are now official members. Unfortunately we have 30 members and are full. Anyone still wishing to join will be on a waiting list and will be notified if a space opens up.
Looking forward to God's harvest!
Mrs. Parnahm
As discussed at Roadrunner Round Up at all grade levels, more attention is being paid to St. Anthony's Dress Code this year. We have started the year off strong, but there are a few items that have been frequent issues:
Socks should have NO logos.
Clear mascara and polish are still makeup/polish and are not to be worn.
Mass wear should be oxford button down shirt with tie/tab tie, not polos.
All shirts are to be tucked in.
Hoodies are not to be worn to Mass.
We are aware that Dennis and Tommy Hilfiger have shipping delays at this time. However, the above issues can be addressed while waiting on new uniforms.
Students have been reminded and phone calls have been made to home. Students that choose not to follow the rules will be given referrals and/or detentions.
Any questions about the dress code can be found here in the Parent/Student Handbook on pages 39-43. Note that Mass wear is indicated with ** in front of uniform requirements.
If you missed the last PTG Meeting, you missed out on Wine, Cheese and a Free Dress Pass for your student(s).
PTG is YOUR parent group, it is a place that you can get involved at your child's school and it is a great place to meet new families. If you can't make it in person to the meetings on the third Wednesday of the month, you can log into the meeting by clicking on the Google Meet in the school calendar. As a reminder, it is mandatory that you attend at least 2 meetings per year or you will be assessed $200 in April.
Minutes for the August meeting available by clicking here.
Our next meeting will be on September 20 at 6 PM in the school library.
If you need to pick up your child early from school, please make arrangements to pick up no later than 2:30 pm. In addition, please make sure to email the student's teacher the morning of. Thank you for your assistance with this.
If you are planning to volunteer this year (and we hope you do), you must have completed your fingerprints, Virtus training and signed off on the Volunteer Agreement before you can be in the classroom or events where students are in attendance (including the Harvest Festival and Barn Dance).
**Fingerprinting is only done once. Virtus and Volunteer Agreements have expiration dates and need to be updated. If you are not sure if you need to update, please contact Kelly Holdren in the front office.
St. Anthony's Catholic School has an app. You can find in the App Store for Apple and Android. If you were having troubles, TRY AGAIN - it's all fixed now.
My Hot Lunch Box now has an app for ordering. You can also set up reminders so you never miss ordering lunch!
Emails for August recipients will be mailed the week of August 28.
Please email scrip at scrip@sasmanteca.org to place your scrip order or call the school office. Remember to include a contact number. Any items we do not have in stock will automatically be put on backorder unless otherwise stated by you.
Please do not order physical cards through RaiseRight. If you would like physical cards please obtain them from our scrip office.
The online RaiseRight program is an excellent way to earn your Scrip profit on the go! ALL physical cards must be ordered through our Scrip office.
